11th December 1883 Sister Emily married Edward Hewitt at St Pancras Register Office.

23rd August 1888 wedding of 19 year old sister Alice Amelia to Sydney Smith at St Pancras Church. It was at this time that Jack the Ripper was committing his gruesome murders in the locality, but terrible news was to come just 4 days after the wedding.

27 August 1888 Brother Edwin whilst adjusting a tarpaulin from an upstairs window of the Sun Fire Office in Threadneedle St. fell 40ft to the ground. He died 2 hours later that day in St Bartholomews Hospital from a fractured skull.

25th May 1890 brother Alfred Albert married 18 year old Eliza Frances Griffiths in St Lukes, Old Street.

12th December 1892 his mother (Elizabeth) died aged 60 of phthisis at home in 4 Seaford Street, St Pancras.


9th February 1893 his father (William Daniel) died at home (4, Seaford Street). The death certificate gave the cause of death as"Cardiac disease Exhaustion"

St Pers Saffron Hill On the 28th May 1893 at the age of 28 he married 19 year old Christobel Alice Chambers in St Peters Church, Saffron Hill, Holborn, she was the daughter of Richard and Arabella Chambers. She was born about 1874 in Holborn, London. Both gave their address as 17 Cross Street. Arthur is a printer with his father William deceased engineer and her father Richard a deceased stoker. All the spellings of Wiedhofft had 2 f's. Witnesses Thomas J? W Chambers & Jane Staddon

14th March 1897 brother Albert married Ada Miriam Chaffey in St.Giles, Bloomsbury, London.

Son Arthur H would have been born about 1894 (he was 7 in the 1901 census) but I have found no registration of his birth yet.

Daughter Christobel Ethel was born on the on the 18th July 1902 in the Holborn registration district. (Registered as Wiedhofft )


Arthur Henry died in the December quarter of 1905 in Islington.


Christobel Wiedhofft & John Neagle

Christobel re-married on the 3rd of January 1909 in St Peters Church, Saffron Hill, Holborn again. John Charles Neagle (of the Royal Navy) was a 30 year old batchelor, son of a deceased soldier.

It looks like John C Neagle died in the Essex South Western registration district in the quarter of 1942 aged 62


Christobel A Neagle died in the June quarter of 1967 in Chatham, Kent age 93 (5F 222)

As the 1861 enumerator listed 12, 13 & 14 as the site of the new church and this is the house next to the church, is this number 11, or 15?.
