Robert & Jennie (Dring) Wilson 1926Robert and Jennie (Dring) Wilson taken at their 50th Wedding Anniversary at the home of their daughter Ruth (Wilson) a Leslie Northrup in New Canaan, CT. They were married in Somers, New York on November 26, 1876.
Jane Dring is the daughter of George William Dring and Mary Ann Ibbott. She was born in Woodhurst, England on February 5, 1855 and migrated to America about 1867 with her entire family at that time. She is one of 13 children, eight born in England, and five born in the town of Yorktown, village of Shrub Oak, New York.
She is buried in Old Town Cemetery, Ridgefield, CT next to her husband.
Currently, there are five generations that follow, most of which are living, from this marriage.
Her husband, Robert Wilson was appointed the first U.S. Postal mail carrier in the town of Ridgefield, CT, using horse and buggy or horse and sleigh for delivering mail. Jim Wilson
