Schools Championships at Sheffield 11/12
July. Pride of place goes to Cara Pain who came second in
the Intermediate Girls 300m hurdles in 43.41s which is a new pb, new Club Record
and new County Record.Gavin Selway gained a creditable 5th place in the
Intermediate Boys 400m Final in 49.43s, also a pb. Alex Ambridge was
5th in his heat of the Junior Boys 800m in a time of 2:10.99, just outside his
best. Unfortunately for our other two athletes, Lee Emanuel was disqualified
in his 1500m heat and Kelly Coombs had 3 no throws in her hammer. These
two still deserve praise for their achievement in gaining selection. Cara goes
on to represent England at Cardiff on Saturday in an international competition.
Well done to all of them.
